Omegaverse World Glossary of Terminology & Names

  • Air Taxi — [air tak-see] — Common paid transport on many civilized planets. It is more expensive than a Hover Train, but much faster. Street vehicles are much less common, but still present.
  • Alpha — [al-fuh] — The largest of the A/B/O population, they are incredibly dominant, territorial, and aggressive. Males are able to produce large knots and seek individual mates to Bond with, while Females tend to be less monogamous, often seeking different males to father children. Alphas are able to scent and identify other A/B/O individuals.
  • Awakening — [uh-wey-kuh-ning] — First time an Alpha / Beta / Omega becomes sexually available. This can occur at puberty, or when latent A/B/O genetics are activated.
    • Often results in intense, painful cramping in Omegas, requiring tending similar to a Needing. Alphas and Betas often enter a Rut during their Awakening, requiring sexual gratification.
  • Beta — [bey-tuh] — Secondary ranked individuals in the A/B/O population. They appear more physically similar to non-A/B/O individuals, but maintain the ability to Mate and Bond (although a Beta’s mating bond can be overridden by an Alpha’s). Males are able to produce knots, and both males and females will seek individual mates to Bond with. Betas are able to scent and identify other A/B/O individuals.
  • Bond — [bond] — The link formed between an Alpha or Beta and an Omega. It is created when both parties participate in sexual intercourse and willingly Mark each other by biting on the shoulder where there is a concentration of A/B/O scent glands. If both individuals do not participate in Marking during intercourse, a Bond will not be formed. Bonded individuals are able to feel each other’s presence and experience the other’s emotions in a limited way. This can result in much more intense orgasms for both parties. These abilities are stronger in close proximity, and grow weaker over a distance, but never completely disappear.
    • NOTE: A Bond between individuals can be broken. It has been described as being similar to the effects of a broken heart.
  • Cenairiss V — [sen-AIR-iss five] — Planet where the Clarity series takes place.
  • Clarity — [klar-i-tee] — A drug that is clear and tasteless. It results in a euphoric high for non-A/B/O individuals, but can trigger an Awakening, Needing, or Rut in Alphas, Betas, and Omegas.
  • Growl — [groul] — A guttural sound of anger or hostility produced by A/B/O individuals. When produced by the Alpha of a pack, it can produce a physical reaction in other pack members forcing submission and obedience.
  • Haze — [heyz] — Lust brought on by scenting another Alpha / Beta / Omega resulting in dilated pupils, intense arousal, and can be painful if an Omega is near their Needing.
  • Hover Train — [huhv-er treyn] — Public transport common on civilized planets, which is a train suspended above a track using hover technology resulting in fast speeds. Less expensive form of transport.
  • Knot — [not] — A bulge at the base of the penis that appears shortly before orgasm in male Alphas and Betas. It’s a swell of muscle that can effectively lock a male inside an Omega during and after ejaculation, preventing separation and leaking of seed for a period of time that varies individual to individual.
  • Mark — [mahrk] — The act of one A/B/O individual biting another on the shoulder where there is a concentration of A/B/O scent glands. This is a territorial act of possession and can result in a Bond if both individuals willingly Mark each other during intercourse.
  • Mate — [meyt] — The individual that an Alpha, Beta, or Omega has Bonded with and chosen to remain with. Most commonly this is an act of monogamy, but different groups and societies recognize different definitions of Mate including polygamous groupings such as ‘harems’ (where one male has many female mates) or ‘reverse harems’ (where one female has many male mates).
  • Needing — [need-ing] — An Omega’s estrous (or ‘heat’) state where they must be tended by an Alpha or Beta, or they will experience severe pain. Occurs on a cycle, but the timeline varies from Omega to Omega and can be triggered in a variety of ways.
    • Female Omegas are fertile during their Needing and it can result in pregnancy. Male Omegas are more likely to produce Omega offspring in an Alpha or Beta female if bred during a Needing.
  • Nest — [nest] — The customized sleeping area for an Omega that can take many forms. Omegas often obsess over this and enter ‘Nesting’ periods during their Needing or while pregnant. Often includes clothing items from their Bonded partner(s), which can produce an arousing or calming effect depending on the Omega’s state.
  • New Paraja — [noo PUH-rah-juh] — City on Cenairiss V where the Clarity series begins.
  • Off-World Travel — [awf wurld trav-uhl] — Any interplanetary travel within the universe. Individuals must go to a ‘transport queue’ in order to travel. Some travel is done by ship, some is done by teleportation rings, it depends on distance.
  • Omega — [oh-meg-uh] — The lowest ranked individuals in the A/B/O population, they are often physically smaller and weaker. These individuals experience their Needing on a cycle where they will seek sexual gratification from an Alpha or Beta. Female Omegas are capable of pregnancy. Omegas are able to scent and identify other A/B/O individuals, but have no sexual response to other Omegas.
  • Pack — [pak] — A group of A/B/O individuals who have committed themselves to each other for community, safety, and/or family. Often led by an Alpha who has risen to the position of Pack Leader, who becomes responsible for everyone within the pack. Some packs include militaristic hierarchies, while others are more like families.
  • Purr — [pur] — A low, continuous murmuring sound expressive of contentment or pleasure. It has a sedating / calming effect on Alphas and Betas, and is more effective on Omegas.
  • Rut — [ruht] — Reaction of Alphas and Betas to an Omega’s Needing resulting in a dramatically increased sex drive, increased aggression, and ‘Feral’ qualities where even more civilized individuals can lose reason. A Rut can also occur during their initial Awakening.
  • Slick — [slik] — Natural lubricant produced in large quantities by aroused Omegas.
  • Torbai — [tor-bi] — Capital city for planet Cenairiss V.
  • Tyranny — [tir-uh-nee] — Popular dance club in New Paraja on Cenairiss V.

  • Alecia — [uh-lee-shuh] — Friend of Karissa. Female with long, multi-colored locks.
  • Alishair — [al-i-sh-air] — Male Omega. Thinner frame, with light brown hair and lighter tanned skin. Brown eyes. Dating Corist unofficially. Gay.
  • Brigin — [brih-jin] — Friend of Karissa, lesbian, dating Mailoe.
  • Corist — [kor-ist] — Male Beta. Handsome with bronzed skin and short, neon-green hair. Warm brown eyes. Dating Alishair unofficially. Gay.
  • Donvin — [don-vin] — Male Alpha, member of the pack. Brown hair that hangs down to his eyebrows, dark eyes, a short-cropped beard, untamed.
  • Halyrion — [h-uh-leer-ee-en] — Male Alpha, member of the pack. Huge alpha, almost as tall as Mordek, missing two fingers from his left hand. Blue eyes, short-cropped hair. He’s rough, older, short-tempered.
  • Jeden — [jay-den] — Male Alpha, second-in-command to Mordek in their pack. Very short dark hair, dark skin, covered in tattoos. Iron self-control.
  • Karissa Enled — [kuh-riss-uh in-led] — Female Omega, main character of Clarity series. Violet hair, pale skin, lavender eyes. Coluurian race.
  • Mailoe — [my-low] — Friend of Karissa, lesbian, dating Brigin.
  • Mordek — [mohr-dek] — Male Alpha, leader of his pack. Very large physically, short-cropped brown hair, pale green eyes, eyebrow split with a scar, nose has been broken several times.
  • Niken — [nee-ken] — Male Beta who sells the Clarity. Bleached white mohawk, golden eyes like shades of amber.
  • Parel — [puh-rel] — Male Alpha, member of the pack. Green eyes, golden skin, well-spoken, sharp tongue. Wild swings of emotion, unpredictable attitude.
  • Sunei — [soon-A] — Friend of Karissa. Short female with dark hair, dancer.
  • Tamberlin Curith — [tam-bur-lin curr-ih-th] — Karissa’s best friend from childhood. Often referred to by her nickname ‘Tawny’ [taw-nee].
  • Tinves — [tin-vez] — Male Alpha, member of the pack. Pale blue skin, dark blue eyes, hairless. His head is bald with dark blue ink tattooed across his skull in fascinating patterns.
  • Zeke — [zee-k] — Male Alpha, youngest member of the pack. Blond with clean-cut looks.
